Bell Let’s Talk

Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day. In 2010, Bell Let’s Talk began a new conversation about Canada’s mental health. The goal of the day is to engage an open discussion about mental illness, and offer new ideas and hope for those who struggle. As noted in the National Study on the Psychological Health Determinants of Legal Professionals in Canada, there are troubling statistics about the psychological distress and burnout facing our colleagues.

CLIA aims to help eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness within our profession and help get the conversation started. The Bell Let’s Talk website contains a toolkit that may be of assistance:

We’ve created a toolkit that includes stickers, posters and activities to share with your family, friends and colleagues to help start the conversation and show your support.

The website also contains numerous mental health resources, including a drop-down menu to filer resources, or a search bar to search by keyword.

CLIA would also like to remind our members about the resources available in all our Subscriber jurisdictions through their lawyer assistance programs. See our previous blog post, Give Yourself the Gift of Wellness, for links for each jurisdiction.
