Roundup: New Contributor Matthew Coleman

CLIA provides mandatory errors and omissions coverage to nine jurisdictions across Canada. While there is some commonality between the provinces, each has its own particular needs and issues. As such, we are continually on the hunt for new voices and perspectives from each of the CLIA jurisdictions.

In 2025, we welcomed a new contributor, Matthew Coleman. Matthew is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick (B.A. 2016 and J.D 2023). He was admitted to the New Brunswick bar in 2024. He has worked for the law firm of Correia & Collins since 2016, advocating for accident victims. Check out the first two posts he shared with us and stay turned for more from Matthew  in the future:

Starting out as a new lawyer can feel like stepping into the unknown – there’s so much to learn and to remember, and the stakes can feel high. One thing that has made all the difference for me is having mentors who guide, challenge, and support me along the way.

One of the biggest challenges that a new lawyer can face is managing time effectively. Between juggling multiple cases, meeting deadlines, and staying on top of client communication, it’s easy to feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day. I have had the luxury of having built habits and strategies over time that help me to stay organized and avoid the feeling of being overwhelmed. Here are some of the time management hacks that work for me.
