Bite Size CPD Series: Mental Wellness Part II

In our previous post Bite Size CPD Series: Mental Wellness , we shared links to several episodes on the topic produced by the Law Society of Saskatchewan. This series considers underlying conditions, causes and potential solutions in informative under-10-minute video episodes. A variety of other topics are available for all to view on the Law Society website, and a new episode is released each Thursday. 

Over the summer, the Law Society produced several new videos in the Mental Wellness Series to assist, including:

  • Episode #170: Life Basics That Support Mental Wellness: Diet, sleep and physical activity are so basic to humans that it is easy to overlook their effects on our minds. This episode in Bite Size's mental wellness series highlights the simplest, but perhaps most effective, things one can do to improve mental resilience.

  • Episode #171: Starting with Mindfulness: Mindfulness training is sometimes misunderstood, but its effectiveness in managing mental wellness is well documented. This episode in the mental wellness series looks at some of the benefits of mindfulness and tips on how to get started. 

  • Episode #172: What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a widely used treatment proven to help with many kinds of mental health issues. This episode in the mental wellness series looks at what exactly is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and what kinds of mental conditions can it help with.

  • Episode #173: Self Care Basics: Although some mental health conditions require clinical help, there are many things one can practice to improve the state of their mind. This conclusion to the Bite Size mental health series examines small but effective steps everyone can try.
